Create a Squads multisig
Everything you need to know about creating your first Squad.
Creating a Squad
Head over to app.squads.so and connect your Solana wallet by clicking the "Connect Wallet" button.
Squads supports the "Wallet Standard" and "Mobile Wallet Adapter" standards developed by Solana. They will automatically detect the wallets that you have installed and show them in the "Connect your wallet" pop-up. You can also create and use a Squads account with your email via TipLink.
We do not support direct Ledger Connect. If you want to connect with your Ledger wallet, add it to your Phantom/Solflare and select the chosen wallet. Make sure you have Blind Signing turned on to successfully sign transactions.
After connecting your wallet, click on the “Create a Squad” button.
Enter the details of your Squads multisig such as the Squad name, profile picture, and description (optional): - We support JPEG, PNG, or GIFs formats under 3MB; - Description is limited to 64 characters; - The Squad's picture, name, and description can be changed after deployment.
Add members to your Squad with their public keys and set a confirmation threshold.
The confirmation threshold refers to the number of approvals required from Squad members for transactions to be executed. For instance, in the example above, 2/3 of wallets on the multisig must approve a transaction for it to be executed.
We advise against setting the threshold at a minimum capacity of 1/1 signatures due to the single point of failure it creates for your multisig. Similarly, avoid setting the threshold at a maximum capacity, as losing control over one of your wallets will result in losing access to your multisig assets.
You can add up to 10 initial members. After your Squad is deployed, more members can be added and each will need to be approved by the multisig, subject to the confirmation threshold set. Once all members are added, review the information and click "Next".
Review your Squad's details and if everything looks correct, click “Confirm”. Once the Squad is created, you can click on the “Share” button in the pop-up to share the Squad URL with your team members.
Deploying a Squads multisig costs approx. 0.0528 SOL depending on the number of initial members added. This amount consists of 0.05 SOL one-time platform fee, 0.001 SOL which will be deposited into your Squads account and ~0.0018 SOL network rent needed for account deployment.
0.001 SOL is also deposited into your account upon creation to make your Squad's address recognizable by individual wallets when sending assets (as some wallets do not permit sending assets to unfunded addresses).
You will be brought to the "Treasury" tab upon creation. More info on navigating your Squad can be found in the next section.
