The details of our integration with Orca.

Due to the size limit of transactions done through the v3 program powering Squads Legacy, our Swap feature is powered by Orca. For users looking to get the best prices across all Solana DEXs when swapping funds in their multisig, we recommend using the Squads app (app.squads.so), which features Swap and Limit Orders powered by Jupiter.

What is Orca?

Orca is a leading decentralized exchange on Solana, allowing users to swap Solana-based tokens through an AMM.

How do Squads users benefit from this integration?

Swaps powered by Orca are seamlessly integrated into the Vault tab, allowing users to swap tokens directly from their Squad without the need to withdraw funds to their individual wallets, which increases users' exposure to different attack vectors and puts their Squad funds at risk.

How to swap tokens directly from your Squad?

To swap tokens:

1. Navigate to the "Vault" tab.

2. Locate the "Swap" section and select the pair you would like to swap.

3. Configure the slippage tolerance. You can select from the predefined options (0.1%, 0,5% or 1%) or input it manually (capped at 15% max).

Trade prices fluctuate frequently. Slippage tolerance sets the acceptable price variation for a trade. If the actual price exceeds this limit, the trade won't execute, preventing unexpected losses. Users must adjust their slippage tolerance or retry the transaction when market conditions align with their specified slippage rate.

5. Insert the description of the transactions. This step is optional.

6. Users can also check the price info which indicates:

   • Rate: shows the exchange rate for the selected route;

   • Slippage: shows the slippage tolerance percentage;

   • Price impact: the size of the trade can affect the rate that users are getting. Price impact measures how much the size of the trade is affecting the price.

   • Minimum received: the minimum amount of tokens that a user will receive upon transaction execution. Is based on the slippage tolerance.

   • AMM fees: fees paid to the AMM for routing the swap.

   • Platform fees: fees incurred by the Squads app (0.2%).

7. Launch the transaction. Once the transaction reaches the confirmations threshold and is executed, the swap will be completed.

Note that if you swap a token that hasn't been deposited into your Squads vault before (for example, swapping SOL to HNT), you will need at least 0.003 SOL in your Squad vault. This amount will be used to cover the cost of creating ATA for the newly deposited token.
